Why Your Battery Drains Fast- For Low to Mid Range Smartphones

Smartphones in general are not like the old nokia phones that we know of that could last days without charging. Smartphones today are as smart as a laptop or a computer. Like a laptop, depending on how you use it has the tendency to last long or drain fast. In view of this fact, app stores today are filled with many apps claiming to prolong your phone's battery.

Some of the apps do more harm than what is already there and some in someway or another reduce battery drain. Every smartphone designed has an amount of RAM (Random Access Memory), which is different from your smartphone's internal memory and a CPU (Central Processing Unit) clockspeed which is the frequency or how fast it can process work. Apps depend on the RAM of a smartphone to background acivities and user operations chatting and notifying the user when there is a new message. Some apps listen for notifications when not in use. In order to do that, they take a portion of your limited RAM to do so and when you decide to use them for example, reply a message Whatsapp, they then take a larger portion of your ram as compared to when you it was not in use but running in the background. When an app is in use by the user, it requires an amount of RAM and if the ram gets exhausted, it then communicates to the CPU. to aid in completing the work, hencing causing your phone's temperature to rise above normal and requiring much power thus draining the batery. because there is more work to do but less resources hence causing the battery to drain till you stop using the app. These are the amin ways we drain our batteries.

The best recommendation I give to customers is that they get rid of apps they dont use or logout from the apps they are not using at the moment because those apps most often work in realtime as in they keep listening for latest notifications to deliver to you. Logging out reduces the ram consumption on your smartphone and hence reduces the likelihood of having your phone drain fast. Some smartphones themselves come pre-installed with task killers but unfortunately our everyday apps have a way of activating themseleves back after some few moments they were killed from running in the background.Another recommendation is to get an original battery and make sure you use the right charger.

I hope this knowledge was useful. Please help someone to understand by sharing. Thank you!
